mindwater coffee company is based in San Diego, CA. we grew from a shared love of coffee and the stories it carries - origins, farmers, brewing rituals, and the moments that bring people together.

Our co-founder Jeff found his passion for coffee while spending a semester abroad in Sweden, where he was immediately introduced to the concept of fika, best characterized by slow, intentional coffee breaks shared with friends and loved ones. It is a prominent concept embraced by Swedes that allows them to break from work, school, and life for just a few minutes. This time often sparks inspiration, new ideas, and promotes important time to pause and reflect.

While our other co-founder Juan's passion began while growing up in Colombia, he was introduced to coffee from a young age; it was more than just a drink; it was a part of daily life. One of his dearest memories is the morning ritual his parents shared. Each day, his dad would gently walk into the bedroom holding a cup of freshly brewed Colombian coffee, tapping it lightly with a spoon and saying, “tin-tin.” That soft clink was more than a sound; it was a loving signal that a new day had begun. The whole house stirred to life with that simple gesture. Now, Juan hopes to carry on that tradition with others, sharing not just coffee, but a moment of presence and connection to start the day mindfully.
